Proud residents of the Adirondack Park, Mark and Darcie Burroughs live in Edinburg, NY with their son Beau, dog Axle, and plus or minus 11 chickens (depending on the local predator appetites). Mark’s experience in the construction field has molded him into a highly sought after general contractor as he specializes in everything from masonry to structural framing to detailed interior finishing. Darcie has produced and project managed high-profile jobs for +15 years, bringing her organization, business management and content producing skills to Steel Pines. She also works full time for a construction technology company, gaining skills everyday that in turn improve business practices at Steel Pines. And of course, we couldn’t succeed without our two extremely talented employees (and friends) Frank Agosta and Austin Bigec.

Steel Pines started from a mutual desire to slow down our lives, start a small business and work with our favorite material: WOOD. The company name comes from the meeting of two worlds: Darcie, who lived in NYC for eight years, worked full-time at Sports Illustrated Swimsuit as the Senior Editor. Mark grew up near the Adirondacks living every moment he could outdoors. He has worked in construction, mechanics, and woodworking for almost 20 years. Their opposite lifestyles and backgrounds converge perfectly like Steel and Pine do. Industrial meets natural. Two strong, durable and functional materials that have endless opportunities for creating and building.
